Four deaths confirmed following Russian bombardment on Kryvyi Rih
A new nightly aerial offensive has plunged the city of Kryvyi Rih into mourning. The ArcelorMittal industrial complex, the beating heart of the Ukrainian economy, was directly targeted by the strikes.

Waking up to the sound of explosions
Night turned to chaos for the residents of Kryvyi Rih. In south-central Ukraine, the city was the target of a volley of Russian drones and missiles, breaking the silence of the early hours of the day. The tragic toll has reached four civilian victims, including two employees of the steel giant ArcelorMittal. The factory, although emblematic of the country's industrial resilience, was not spared, illustrating the Russian strategy of striking vital infrastructure to undermine morale and the economy.
Industrial target: a symbol under fire
The ArcelorMittal complex in Kryvyi Rih, much more than a simple production unit, serves as a major economic pivot. By targeting these facilities, Moscow is not only seeking to destroy production capacity, but to weaken the already struggling Ukrainian financial system. The regional governor, Sergueï Lysak, confirmed that the strikes targeted areas with high concentrations of workers, turning a site of labor into a field of ruins. Local authorities and emergency services immediately began clearing operations, faced with the extent of the structural damage sustained by the industrial site.
A climate of enduring terror
Beyond the factory, the entire city is holding its breath. Governor Lysak highlighted the violence of the attack, noting that these night strikes are designed to surprise and disrupt Ukrainian air defenses. While the forces of Kiev manage to intercept a significant portion of Russian vectors, the saturation of the sky invariably leads to irreparable loss of life. For the population of Kryvyi Rih, anxiety has become a daily companion, with every siren sounding like a promise of destruction.
The trial of fire and steel
The human toll, with its four deceased, revives the throbbing pain of a bogged-down conflict. The company ArcelorMittal expressed its condolences, while affirming its willingness to maintain, as much as possible, operational course despite repeated attacks. This tragedy highlights once again the vulnerability of Ukrainian civilians to a war strategy that, for a long time now, has failed to distinguish between military zones and the country's productive infrastructure.
